My, my, my - the opening events set for today have literally given us goosebumps! We could hardly contain ourselves when listening to just the sound check for the opening act, a live singer by the name of Mapoo Little. On the Pride Sim at 1PM PDT today!

Wanna get festive?

Shake your tico tico at the Pride Samba Show on Saturday, March 5th.

We're bringing you the rhythms of tropical Brazil with 16 performers, our hot samba dancers, and the Copa Cuícas led by bandmasters Hotboy and Wes!

Prizes galore with original floats and props, and free Mardi Gras necklaces for all.

This event is a fundraiser for Second Pride and for the Pride sim!

Message from Marcus Steeplechase

Hiya!

Some people say that Samba is the unifying force behind Brazilian culture. It is certainly the musical expression of Rio Mardi Gras and carnivals around the world. On Sunday, March 6, the Pride sim will host 2 Samba shows, with performances by some of Brazil's music superstars.

Your help will make these shows a success. I have put together 15 samba songs on YouTube under the username msteeplechase. To review all these songs, just go to my profile here and on the right side of the screen click on "see all" to see the 15 samba selections that are uploaded.

If you are interested in participating in the Pride Samba Show, please find a song (or songs) you would like to perform.

There are many other samba songs, so please don't feel confined by the list I put together. Once you have decided on a song (or a few choices) just send me a notecard or email with this information:

I am available for Sunday rehearsals 2PM on February 13 and 2PM on February 27

I am available to perform in 2 shows, March 6, at 2PM and 6PMSLT

Most samba songs run about 3 minutes, so we are looking at a 90 minute show with introductions to each song by the DJ. We'll also try to create just one set --but a very spectacular set-- so we don't have to spend a lot of time fussing between songs. If you are interested in helping with the set, please let me know.

Also, many of these songs call for chorus, band, and dancers. So if you sign up for a song, please be prepared to spend most of the 90 minutes onstage helping other performers with their acts.

Last but not least, I appreciate any suggestions on how to make this event a first class SL experience!
