- Our great friend, Dom Bamatter, had to sell several of his sims. As of today, almost all of them have found new owners to maintain them. It provides nice opportunities to rename/relocate them, if needed, within the GA. A fresh new start for many of us.

- The LGBT Agora Center, located in Wayfarer Island, is one of the priorities of the new GA Council Chairman. This information center, unique in Second Life, is a wonderful gateway to many LGBT places and organizations. Contact : Draghan Marksman

- Yesterday two new sims have arrived in the GA : Romanum V - Romanum Estate is a vibrant success story;) - and Colibri Island, a new lesbian german sim. Congratulations, warm welcome and best of success to them !!

- In the coming weeks, our japanese friends from Tou-Gen-Kyo will finally officially move to the GA with a new sim. Time to learn few japanese words !;)

Official announcements soon by the new Council. Keep an eye on this space !

The Gay Archipelago family grows, and grows and grows...

Today there are 147 sims and 44 estate owners sharing the same area. Further expansions are planned and the question is: which sim will be 150th in the coming weeks?

For an estate owner, what are the main advantages for a move to the Gay Archipelago, in other words, to become a GA co-owner?

The GA has grown from friends, and friends of friends coming into the area. Some have chosen to connect their sims with others, some have kept sea around themselves.

Nearly halfway the contests for GA Calendar 2011, it can happen you meet Mr January Raven from France, Mr February Vaan from USA, Mr March Bobo from Canada, Mr April Min from The Netherlands or Mr May Bambi from the UK. Coming weekend 22/24 you can vote for Miss June at the wonderfull Lesbian estate Sidhe. The party experts 'pur sang' of Sidhe will publish their plans in the groups and GA magazine. Ladies will show themselves as Faes or Dragons. At the moment some photoshoots are already done and half GA is curious to see the results. If you like to be a GA Topmodel, you are welcome to enter one of the next contests. Avatars of Latin America, South Europe, Asia and Australia need some support, it seems that they are too shy to show their face and body. No need to hide your good looks boys and girls; the first winners are wearing their tags with proud and will tell you that it is FUN to be in the spotlights. You can read interviews with them in the GA Weekly Magazine. After the last contest for the Covergal or Coverguy there will be a party "Meet the Stars", all interviews and the Calendar will be for sale to support GA projects. Projects like the Sandbox, the Gateway and the Travel & Tourist Agency have costs like tier, to pay servers and to buy the latest technical 'stuff' to give you the service you need as resident or visitor of GA. Be a good sport, visit the next contests and vote for your friend/contester or better ... vote for the best looking party animal. The hosts, dancers and DJ's will welcome you and will do their best to give you a great time. Kissing, hugging, teasing and making jokes are allowed ;) )

As announced previously, Linden Lab has offered to LGBT Estates in Second Life to move within Gay Archipelago and share traffic together... for FREE ! vs. $150US/per sim. Woohoo ;)

This offer is only available to our friends until September 15th.

Any move within the Gay Archipelago after this date will be charged by 150$/sim by Linden Lab.

This is a great opportunity to share diversity, friendship, partnership, and great events together in a place with the Pride LGBT gateway and a Gay sandbox in its heart.

For an Estate owner, what are the main advantages to take part of the community and become one of the co-owners of GA ?

Please take the time to read the following carefully. This policy will be implemented on Monday, August 9th, 2010.

The policy is a result of many discussions and an ongoing problem of people leaving the group due to chat and notice 'spam’. With over 2200 members, all having different reasons for joining the group, it has become clear that we must put a stop to that problem.

Here is the Policy:

1.    The Role of Everyone (all new members) will be expanded to allow receipt of notices.

The Role of Mentor will remain as is except that the Title will be changed to “GA Member” to avoid confusion with the mentors at the LGBT Pride Gateway

New members to the Group (as well as all current members) will therefore have the Roles of Everyone and Mentor (GA Member).

2.    The Role of Mentor, which now includes almost everyone in the group, has the ability to chat, but this has been one of the main issues.  It is impossible to monitor this 24 hours every day, but it has caused ongoing concern for many group members.

Chat in this group is **strictly** limited to the general business of the Gay Archipelago and to news and announcements that are applicable to ALL group members and are relevant to the ENTIRE GA cluster.

3.    The ability to send Notices to the group will be restricted to a small number, namely GA Estate Owners, GA Council members, and Group Owners.

Notices in this group are **strictly** limited to the general business of the Gay Archipelago and to news and announcements that are applicable to ALL group members and are relevant to the ENTIRE GA cluster.  Absolutely NO private events or services can be advertised in this group,

4.    Both Chat and Notices will be carefully monitored, and anyone who abuses either will be asked ONCE not to continue. After the second misuse, that person will lose his/her ability to chat or send notices.

if you are unsure that your announcement is appropriate, it would be best to ask a Group Owner before posting.

Please note that the GA Events Group is much less restricted and is the best way to receive in-world notices of things to do around the Archipelago.  If you would like and IF you do not mind a little more chat on occasion, you are welcome to join that group either in addition to or instead of the main group.

Again, this policy goes into effect this Monday, August 9, 2010. Questions about this policy may be directed to Myles Capalini or Thormec Micheline.

Thank you for your cooperation.
